This is a photo of a scorpion found on Santa Cruz Island, California, Catalinia thompsoni. It has recently been placed in the genus Catalinia, along with three other California scorpions, Catalinia castanea, Catalinia andrea and Catalinia minima. They were formerly in the genus Pseudouroctonus. This species was previously known as Pseudouroctonus minimus thompsoni. I am fortunate to have pics of this California Scorpion.
