Diplocentrus New Species

Above is a photo of a New Species of Diplocentrus found in Sonora, Mexico. This scorpion species and a few others are the only scorpions of the family Scorpionidae found in North America. They are found in remote areas, which is why these scorpions are rarely seen. A close relative is the Emperor Scorpion, the scorpion found for sale in many pet shops. I am fortunate to have available pics of these uncommon Sonoran Scorpions. The species description will be published in 2020. We are grateful to Hector Villa for providing the photo of this rare scorpion.
