Tityus stigmurus (Thorell, 1876) 1st instar
Above is a photo of a Tityus stigmurus 1st instar from Brazil. This species is known to be parthenogenetic, it reproduces without mating. I was given the mother of this scorpion, in 2008, when it was a third instar. This pic was taken the morning after it was born. The mother has never been with another scorpion since it was a third instar.
