California has the largest number of Scorpion species of any state. The same varied climate that
draws millions of people is the reason. We at Arizona Scorpion World are trying to provide
some information on scorpions of adjacent states.
There are approximately 80 species in the United States.
More than half of those species are found in California. Here are photos of 33 different California
Scorpions.

Scorpions have their place in the scheme of things that has nothing
to do with stinging people.
Scorpions are among the world's oldest land invertebrates. Scorpions do a great job of
keeping insect populations in check.
