Above is a photo of Uroctonites montereus a rarely seen scorpion found at high elevations in California. It is similar to and in the same genus as Uroctonites huachuca (Gertsch & Soledad, 1972) from Arizona. I am fortunate to have available pics of this rare species of Scorpion courtesy of Lauren, who lives in California.
